The other day, Anna and I ventured out for pizza in Spiez one last time before I leave Switzerland. Instead of taking the train all the way, be opted to hike over the mountain to Mulenen and then take the train from there.
It was a chilly hike, and while the walk normally offers panoramic views of the valley, the fog prevented us from seeing much more than a few meters around us.
But I didn’t mind. It was a drab day, but days like that can be so beautiful. Perhaps I’ll make the walk again before I leave to see the valley and the lake from above, but on that day, I was perfectly fine with the views within our reach.
Everything was a deep green hue from a recent rain, and the further we walked from Kiental, the more the snow faded for the onsets of spring. It felt like a whole new Switzerland, beautiful in a completely new way.
